28th July 2010
Mo Farah has secured the UK's first gold medal at the European Athletic Championships, leading home a British one - two in the 10k. A fantastic acheivement that will hopefully follow through to the Commonwealth games and set the SiS sponsored athlete on track for 2012.
Ten Record Miles
26th July 2010
Michael Hutchinson has broken the British National 10 mile TT record this weekend with a time of 17.57, beating Bradley Wiggins' old record by just one second.
SiS Dominate the Tour
26th July 2010
With SiS being nutrition partners with Team Rabobank, Team Saxobank and Team Astana, SiS sponsored riders have managed to lock out the podium at the Tour for the second year on the run. Add to that the partnership with HTC-Columbia, SiS riders powered their way to 10 stage victories, ranging from Fabian Cancellara's immense time trialling, the dominance of the climbers and Mark Cavendish's sprinting.
A Bumper Pack of News
7th June 2010
It seems everything has been against us getting news onto the website recently. With it being the busiest time of year and currently not being in the sales office there's been a lot of things I've missed. So, what's happened I hear you ask?
- Slijkhuis beats Slater in Lanzarote - both have qualified for Hawaii which is a great result. Peter Slijkhuis came in 24th overall and 3rd in his age group in only his second Ironman, whilst Pete Slater came in 99th, 6th in his age group after a 20 year hiatus since his last Ironman. A great effort from both of them, so lets see what happens in October.
- SiS fuels the top 3 finishers in the National 25 - the ever present Michael Hutchinson won his third back to back national 25 (4th overall), leading Mark Holton and Matt Bottrill across the line to complete the SiS fueled podium.
- Kenton Cool reaches the top of the world. Again. - beating his own personal best for an ascent of Everest, Kenton Cool has conquered the highest peak in the world for the eighth time in seven years, again fueled with SiS products (along with the odd bit of vintage cheddar - see the blog entries for details - the final ones will be up later this week.
- Alberto Contador takes control of the Dauphine Libere - In a show of strength in the Prologue of the Dauphine Libere Contador has proven his time-trialling form a month before the start of the Tour de France. With the mountains to come, it looks like he'll be laying down a marker to his competitors early on.
- Richie Porte wins best young rider - We missed news updates throughout the entire Giro d'Italia, however after a brief spell in the Maglia Rosa, Richie Porte finished the race in the white jersey of the best under 25 rider, an excellent achievement considering it's his first grand tour and first year in the Pro-Tour.
Pictures, Kenton's blog entries and write ups from Lanzarote by both Pete's will be uploaded in due course.
Lanzarote Ironman
21st May 2010
This Saturday (22nd May) sees two of the SiS staff go head to head in Lanzarote Ironman. With bets in the office as to who will beat who, it's sure to be an exciting race. Look out for pete Slater and Peter Slijkhuis and follow their race here.
Kenton's Blog, Vino's back and flights resume
26th April 2010
As mentioned last week, Kenton Cool has begun his summer on Everest and his first two blog entries can be find here for part one, and here for part two.
After a week of one of our reps being stranded in Lanzarote post training camp, unfortunatley with his bike, I'm sure he was disappointed to be back in Britain. He also managed to duck out of the London Marathon expo, one of the busiest events on the SiS calendar.
Alexandre Vinokourov's return to racing with Team Astana continued with a jump over Kolobnev in the final kilometer of Liege-Bastogne-Liege bringing another monument win under the umbrella of SiS fuelled teams.
Feeling ontop of the World
19th April 2010
Kenton Cool has begun his summer's aim of climbing Everest (for the eighth time) with a trek to Everest Base Camp. Even a trek to the base hasn't been without incident though with him arranging the rescue of a member of another group.
A massive congratulations to Cambridge University Boat Club on their impressive victory at The Boat Race on the 3rd of April. They've been using SiS to power them since last year and their endurance showed over the second half of the course rowing around the outside of Oxford under Hammersmith Bridge and opening up a lead down the Chiswick Straight.
With Fabian's performances over the previous two weekends you could be forgiven for thinking an SiS fueled win would be on the cards this weekend, however it wasn't to be as our best performer in the Amstel Gold race was Enrico Gaspaotto (Team Astana) managed third position two seconds back from the winner.

Another Winning Weekend
12th April 2010
Sunday saw the stage set in Roubaix for another classic showdown over the cobbles. The power and seemingly un-ending energy of Fabian Cancellara (Team Saxo Bank) once again blew the field apart, riding away from his rivals at 45km to go to power to another dominating victory securing a monumental double victory with Flanders last weekend.
Closer to home, SiS sponsored Mark Holton (www.drag2zero.com) broke Gethin Butler's 13 year old record at the Circuit of the Dales 50 mile TT, setting a new record of 1:56:52.

Pro Tour Update
7th April 2010
With the official announcement of a renewed SiS partnership with the Astana, Saxo Bank and Rabobank teams, the new relationship with HTC-Colmbia the 2010 calendar is set to be an exciting one for us.
Andre Greipel (HTC-Columbia) got the SiS partnered teams off to the perfect start with a strong performance to win the Tour of Down Under then Alberto Contador (Team Astana) rode to victory in the Paris-Nice stage race in March and Oscar Friere (Rabobank) powered to victory at Milan San-Remo.
Fabian Cancellara (Team Saxo Bank) got the cobbled season off to a winning start, taking E3 Prijs Vlaanderen, backed up by another win a week later at Ronde van Vlaanderen. The best thighs in the business sandwiches a win by Bernhard Eisel (HTC-Columbia) at Gent-Wevelgem, setting up what could be another fantastic weekend for Paris-Roubaix and hoping their team mates can carry on the form going into the hillier classics a week later.
