Part of the Ritual
Weight Loss

Often people exercising to lose weight are put off using energy drinks because they think that they are high in calories, but it is important to remember that quality exercise depends upon carbohydrate energy. When carbohydrate energy supply is compromised exercise intensity has to be reduced. This means that fewer calories are burned for each hour of exercise. The graph below illustrates the importance of carbohydrate even for fat burning exercise. Notice that in this typical example for a trained cyclist, maximum fat burning of about 40g per hour requires over twice as much carbohydrate. Even at low intensities like this, carbohydrate usage is faster than optimal replacement. Exercising with low carbohydrate supply also increases muscle protein breakdown and the risk of infections.

We do not make any products specifically for weight loss but we do have many products that help improve the quality of exercise whilst maintaining a calorie deficit. Remember the only real way to loose weight is to consume less calories than you expend. If you are on a low calorie diet which is low in carbohydrate (e.g. boiled egg whites and fruit for breakfast) you should find taking GO electrolyte during exercise helps you do a decent exercise session. If you start to feel your energy getting too low then a GO-Gel can be really useful to give yourself an energy boost and get through the session. REGO post exercise will help you recover from exercise and give you more energy for the next exercise session. By making your REGO up prior to exercise and leaving in the fridge for when you return, you will have sorted out your post exercise nutrition so you should be less likely to be distracted by other food that’s less beneficial to your weight management program.

You may also find CLA supplements useful, whilst the evidence for this tends to show a change in body composition (more lean muscle mass, less fat) we have had many reports of its benefit for your purpose when used as part of an exercise program.
